U12 Girls – Saturday 25th April 2026
St.Brendans GAA (2-11) vrs Ranelagh Gaels GAA (1-5)
It was a great afternoon’s work for the St.Brendan’s U12 girls who put in a strong all-round performance to secure a well-earned win over Ranelagh Gaels in a sun drenched Longmeadows earlier today.
From the throw-in, St. Brendan’s showed great energy and intent across the pitch. Arianna started in goal for the first half and dealt confidently with the early pressure, making several solid interventions to keep Ranelagh Gaels at bay. In front of her, the full-back line of Clara, Sarah and Matylda were disciplined and determined, working hard to limit scoring opportunities and clearing their lines effectively.
Across the half-back line, Amalia and Louise provided crucial support, linking defence and attack with intelligent running and well-timed tackles. Louise’s work rate was exceptional with some intelligent play and making her mark on the scoreboard, contributing two well taken points from play.
In midfield, Emma and Kydi were outstanding throughout, dominating possession and driving St. Brendan’s forward. Emma worked tirelessly throughout capping her performance with an impressive tally of four points. Kydi was equally influential, finishing the game with 1-2, including a well-taken goal that gave St. Brendan’s real momentum at a crucial time in the match.
Up front, the forward line of Casey, Lilah, Amely, Sofia and Ava worked tirelessly to create chances and apply pressure on the Ranelagh Gaels defence. Casey contributed three well-earned points, while Lilah found the net with a crucial goal. The forwards’ movement and teamwork were key in building and converting scoring opportunities throughout the game.
At half-time, Ava took over goalkeeping duties and slotted in seamlessly, showing great composure and awareness in the second half to help maintain St. Brendan’s advantage.
Overall, it was a great team performance by the girls, with every player contributing to a final scoreline of 2-11 to 1-5. The teamwork, effort and skill on display were a credit to both sides, with St. Brendan’s just winning out thanks to their consistency and clinical finishing.
