The next St Brendan’s Adult team to step up onto the 2026 Championship plate was the Club’s Flagship team, The Men’s Football 1st XV, Sponsored by Dynamic Safety Solutions and the team couldn’t have asked for a more tougher group with 2 AFL 4 teams, Good Counsel Liffey Gaels and Geraldine P Morans and 1 AFL5 team, St Marks, in Group 1 of the PTSB Junior 1 Club Championship.

First up for St Brendan’s was a tough away trip to Ballyogan and a fixture against a Geraldine P Moran’s side who pitted themselves quite well in AFL 4 with 5 wins, 2 draws & 7 losses.

In the end, the home sides experience in AFL4 showed when The Dark Force was defeated on a scoreline off 3-13 to 1-8, with Padraig ‘Ka Ying Rising ‘ McKenna scoring the goal and both The Valley Rover Tadhg O’Brien and The Adventure Man Nicky McCafferty scoring two pointers.

But a black card in the stroke of half time and below par performance in the second half will have infuriated David ‘Players Please’ Beggy who promised to run the f***** b******* out of his side ahead of the next fixture in two week's time against St Marks, with a training regime similar to the one he faced when Meath won the 1987 & 1988 All Irelands.

On the August Bank Holiday Monday, The St Brendan’s Ladies Football 2nd XV, sponsored by Bartra Healthcare, followed up their draw with the brilliant 4-10 to 0-4 victory away to Shankill, Team Manager Joe ‘Dot IE’ Murphy was anxious over the thought of low numbers with most of the players attending The Altogether Now festival in Waterford, but thankfully these players cut short their festivities and travel to Shankill to ensure the win.

On Wednesday August 5th, The St Brendan’s Ladies Football 1st XV, sponsored by McGowans of Phibsborough, were beaten 3-9 to 2-8 by Round Towers Lusk on PTSB LGFA Division 4. 

On Thursday August 6th, The St Brendan’s Camogie team, sponsored by Comtech Engineering and Ryans of Camden Street, travelled to Swords for the Final of the PTSB Camogie Summer Cup against Fingallians. However the home side ran out 3-12 to 1-8 winners.
